By the evening I’m OK, it fades throughout the day, when nothing’s lost or thrown away When I wake up I reset, dream up a new threat, you don’t know how bad it all can get Yeah, most of the time it all works out OK Ahead of time it never looks that way I’m rehearsing for the worst yeah I’m catastrophizing I’ll be stressing and obsessing over analyzing It’ll all fall through I’m in a hurry to go worry I’m catastrophizing I’m getting manic close to panic over analyzing This must be hard for you It’s nothing rational, it’s so nonsensical, it’s mostly indefensible Tell my hands that as they shake, tell my chest that as it aches, it’s all too much for me to take Imagination it does me a disservice Bad fantasies oh they make me nervous I’m rehearsing for the worst yeah I’m catastrophizing I’ll be stressing and obsessing over analyzing It’ll all fall through I’m in a hurry to go worry I’m catastrophizing I’m getting manic close to panic over analyzing This can’t be fun for you All I ever want to do is make things right All I ever want to do is make things good All I want to do is please everyone All I want to do is never be wrong All I want to do is control the world Yeah, most of the time it all works out OK Except when it doesn’t, I’m just saying I invent all this dissent ‘cause I’m catastrophizing I’m second guessing I’m regressing over analyzing It’ll all fall through I’m in a hurry to go worry I’m catastrophizing I’m getting manic close to panic over analyzing This can’t be fun for you All I ever want to do is make things right All I ever want to do is make things good All I want to do is please everyone All I want to do is never be wrong All I want to do is control the world

As days go by, you clear your eyes, it’s not as bad as it was The shock is gone, and you slowly move on, it’s what time always does When bad things start to happen, you don’t know how you’ll make it through But bad things always happen, right on cue Around and around So many ups and so many downs The longer we go the more we know That the good times don’t ever last Yet I always let Myself forget The bad days lift away too When you’ve been burned, you start to learn, to doubt a brighter phase Always surprised, by the lows and the highs, when neither ever stays When bad things start to happen the good things seemed too good to be true Bad things always happen, it’s nothing old or new Around and around So many ups and so many downs The farther we go the more we know That the good times don’t ever last Yet I always let Myself forget The bad days lift away too

Sometimes you might get lonely, though you know you’re not alone And while you don't know anyone, you’ll always be known It's not what they say, it's how they make you feel, that part is real, that's what you always hear I know one day you won’t be back, sometimes you’re gone for a while But for now, we know how to find you, how to make you smile It's not what they say, it's how they make you feel, that part is real, that's what you always hear You don't recall their names, or if you have ever met But their hold on your heart, maybe you will never forget It's not what they say it's how they make you feel, that part is real, that's what you always hear It's not what they do, but if they connect with you, that's what'll last, it’s the only thing that’s clear It's not what they say it's how they make you feel, that part is real, that's what you always hear It's not what they do, but if they connect with you, that's what'll last, it’s the only thing that’s clear That’s what you always hear What you always hear

The station played faintly in the grocery store But I caught a song that you don’t hear anymore I always felt, my heart melt, when those opening chords would play It was a minor hit, most forgot about it, but it took my breath away You know it’s so good to, hear that song again, I remember when, we used to hear it on the radio I froze in an aisle to wait for the chorus again Some glanced as I cried but I still stayed ‘til the end A minute brings unexpected things that reveal what’s in your heart Losing control makes you whole and breaks you a little apart But you know it’s so good to, hear that song again, I remember when, we used to hear it on the radio So easily I could, have never heard that song again, and remember when, we’d hear it on the radio I always felt, my heart melt, when those opening chords would play It was a minor hit, most forgot about it, but it took my breath away You know it’s so good to, hear that song again, I remember when, we used to hear it on the radio So easily I could, of never heard that song again, recall how we felt when, we’d hear it on the radio

about

In Time is my first full-length album in 15 years! When I first started writing music again 2 years ago, I had no intention of ever making an album. My plan was to release singles and short EPs once or twice a year, which is what I did in 2020. Over time, that plan changed. Throughout 2021, I wrote and recorded every few months, but I never got around to releasing anything. Just when I was about to put something out, I’d write a new song or two and race back to the studio. By February 2022, I had completed 10 songs. So, I unexpectedly made my first album since 2007.

It was made with Brett Kull who produced, engineered, and mixed it. He also played most of the instruments. We recorded it off and on over the course of 13 months. Typically, I'd show up at his studio, quickly track the piano, drums and lead vocals, and in hours I'd be on my way. From there, Brett would play all the other instruments, sing the harmony parts, and piece it all together. His production is great with lots of cool textures, beautiful guitar work, and fun ear candy. Thanks so much for checking it out.
